There's something magical about film that digital can’t quite replicate. The soft grain, the tones, and of course, the anticipation of waiting for your scans. All of this brings back a sense of romance and slow-paced life that we've been losing in our instant world, where everything is at the distance of a touch. Film photography is making a quiet, beautiful comeback. Maybe it's because we’re craving authenticity. Maybe it's because we miss the feeling of having something that can't be filtered or swiped away. Shooting on film forces you to slow down. To pause. To breathe. To intentionally shoot. Every frame counts. There’s no checking the back of the camera.
When I shoot film at weddings, it’s never about perfection. It’s about emotion. Film had the ability to, alongside digital photography, bring another feel of timeless and raw emotion. Turning every photo even more meaningful. I love offering film as part of my wedding photography because it adds that extra layer of nostalgia, like flipping through your parents’ wedding album. It’s imperfect in the most perfect way.
Love, life and memory are not meant to be flawless. They're meant to be felt, and that's exactly what I try to bring to the wedding gallery with film wedding photography.
When you add film to your wedding photography coverage, you’re getting something truly special. I bring at least three rolls of film with me and photograph your day alongside my digital cameras. Film just fits right in throughout the day.
Film wedding photography makes your wedding coverage so much fun for both ends. Maybe during portraits, I’ll ask you to pause for a second so I can photograph you on film, at the same time giving you a chance to breathe and just be still for a moment during such a fast-paced, high rushed day.
Or maybe you’ll catch me on your dance floor, dancing with everyone while holding a point-and-shoot camera, making sure your craziest moves and chaotic faces are captured forever on film.
Film isn’t just an add-on, it's giving an extra layer of feelings to your wedding day.
If you love that nostalgic, vintage vibe, if you're drawn to imperfect frames, if you love the new trends, if you enjoy flash photography... then yes, film photography is totally for you.
It’s for the romantics. The ones who feel deeply. The ones who want their wedding photos to look and feel like timeless memories. If you’re not afraid of a little unpredictability and want your gallery to be filled with photos that truly feel alive and a little imperfect, just like you.
My first professional experience with film photography was when I was studying Photography in University, in the “Lab Techniques” unit.
For our final project, we had to pick a theme, and photograph accordingly. As I already was feeling drawn to portrait photography, I obviously decided that my project would be about my loved ones on film. So we had to photograph them in film, and then develop the roll and the scans. It was for sure an unforgettable experience, and for me a highlight of this degree.
After that, I made sure I always had some film with me. When photography became my full-time job, taking photos of friends and family became less fun and more of work, because I constantly thought if the photos were looking good, and how I would edit them. So film photography saved me. I still enjoy taking photos of my loved ones, but only a few (because film is expensive!!), and we’ll have to wait to see what it develops.
