Love is a magical journey that leads us to moments of pure bliss and everlasting memories. And what better occasion to celebrate love than an engagement party? Recently, I had the privilege of being the photographer at the enchanting engagement party of Inês Brusselmans and Nino Évora, where love, joy, and anticipation filled the air. After 8 years together, they finally decided that it was time to say "I do".
Engagement parties have always been a cherished celebration, marking the beginning of a couple's journey towards marriage. However, in Portugal this new type of celebration is just starting. As times change and new ideas emerge, the concept of engagement parties is also evolving.
Inês and Nino engagement party took place on a beautiful summer evening at a breathtaking venue in the heart of the city (Mar d'Sal restaurant, in São Pedro beach in Cascais). The decor was a perfect blend of elegance and romance, with soft, ethereal lighting, delicate floral arrangements, and a touch of whimsy. The venue exuded a warm and inviting ambiance, setting the stage for an unforgettable celebration of love.
Every aspect of the engagement party was thoughtfully curated to reflect Inês and Nino's unique love story. Kefie Events was the team chosen to be responsible for the planning of the party. As they have been side by side with them for years now, helping planning their birthdays. So when it came to choose who would be responsible to make sure that everything make sense, it was a no-brainer that Kefie would be the chosen team.
All the decor was from BC Planning. And the day became even more romantic with the flower arrangements of the one and only Oh Maria Flores. The "as tasteful as beautiful" cake was made by Mon Sucre, and this super-team of flower and cake created a scenery that left me speechless. I spent a lot of time taking photos of that amazing combo.
As the guests arrived, their faces filled with excitement and anticipation, the atmosphere buzzed with laughter and conversation. Inês and Nino, radiating with happiness, welcomed each guest with open arms. Before starting with the welcome drinks, Inês and Nino made sure they took a photo with everyone, as they wanted all their guests to feel part of their day. The scenery chosen to these photos was in front of the beautiful sitting plan made by Pergaminho Design.
One of the highlights of the evening was the series of heartfelt speeches and toasts. The couple decided that on this engagement party, they wanted to invite people to be on their wedding party. Inês' grandmother and Nino's grandfather were asked to be the maid of honor and best man. Everyone got really emotional (me included, obviously. If you know me by now, you know that grandparents are my soft spot), and their grandparents even received a lovely gift as well as this beautiful homage.
Later, they invited some friends to be bridesmaids and grooms men. Laughter, tears, and heartfelt emotions filled the room. It was a testament to the deep impact Inês and Nino had on those around them.
No celebration is complete without a joyful dance floor. Nino's grandfather has a band, and they played some songs that made everyone spin around on the dance floor and sing their lungs out.
As the photographer entrusted with capturing the essence of this special evening, it was an honour to witness the raw emotions and candid moments shared between Inês, Nino, and their loved ones. Every click of the camera captured the genuine smiles, tender glances, and joyous embraces, preserving the memories of this milestone event for years to come. The former Portuguese miss, Inês Brusselmans was wearing a breathtaking jumper from Eva Lendel. And if you though that this look could not get any more perfect, Lily Marques and Catarina Duque were the cherry on the top of the cake to make this look absolutely stunning.
