Last year, I had the absolute joy of meeting Beth and David just a few months before their wedding. They reached out with the idea of doing an engagement photoshoot in Adraga Beach, and of course, I said yes immediately! Adraga is one of my all-time favourite beaches in Portugal – it has this raw, untamed beauty that makes it a dream for photos.
Why choose Adraga Beach for your engagement photos?
Adraga Beach, located in the heart of the Sintra-Cascais Natural Park, is a hidden gem just 45 minutes from Lisbon. It’s known for its dramatic cliffs, rock formations, and golden sand that seems to stretch on forever. I’ve done several sessions here, and every time it feels like a completely new place – the light, the tides, the weather... it all changes so much from day to day. What remains the constant? The epic photoshoot results.
That’s exactly what happened with Beth and David’s photoshoot at Adraga Beach. It was a moody May afternoon. The sky was grey, the wind was strong, and there was that classic Sintra unpredictability in the air. But that didn’t stop us for a second.
Embracing the Weather
If you’ve been to Sintra, you know the weather here has a mind of its own. It can be sunny in Lisbon and foggy in Adraga just 30 minutes later. But honestly? That’s part of the magic. Beth and David embraced the moment like pros. They were barefoot on the rocks, dancing in the wind, and completely unbothered by the cold Atlantic water.
That kind of adventurous spirit is what turns a regular session into something truly memorable. Their engagement photoshoot in Adraga Beach felt like a scene from a romantic movie: intimate, and a little wild in the best way possible.
"Our love was made for movie screens" – "All I Want" by Kodaline was playing on repeat in my head during this beautiful moment.
A Bit of My Heart
For me, every photoshoot in Adraga Beach is more than just pretty pictures. It’s about capturing that connection between two people in a place that feels alive – and Adraga does that so effortlessly. Working with couples like Beth and David, who are open to the unexpected and find joy in the imperfect moments, is why I love what I do.
If you’re dreaming of a photoshoot on the coast of Portugal, let’s talk. I’d love to help you create something beautiful at Adraga – or anywhere your heart leads you.
